2025 Bacopa Literary Review
Submissions are currently closed and will reopen in 2026.
Bacopa Literary Review 2025 includes five categories: Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Free Verse Poetry, Formal Poetry, and Visual Poetry.
Our Bacopa Literary Review Editors’ blog shows the quality of writing we seek by highlighting work we respect from previous Bacopa issues as well as other sources.
When submitting, writers must note in their cover letter the genre in which they are submitting (Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Free Verse Poetry, Formal Poetry, or Visual Poetry). For further instructions, writers should check the Guidelines page.
WAG members: In addition to cultivating this international platform, we remain committed to amplifying voices from around our community and our region. In an effort to highlight and celebrate work by Writers Alliance of Gainesville members in particular, the 2025 Bacopa Literary Review writing contest includes a “Best of WAG” award in each of our five submissions categories.
We invited all WAG members to submit to the category of their choice. Winning pieces will be noted in the journal’s table of contents, as well as in the body of the journal. These pieces will also be featured on our Editors Blog and social media, and the authors will be invited to read their work at our annual journal debut event in December.
While there are no separate cash prizes for the WAG member awards, winners will still be considered for the cash prizes in their genre of the overall contest.
WAG members submit through the members-only, fee-free, submissions portal on our Submittable page: https://writersallianceofgainesville.submittable.com/submit. For complete instructions, click on the Guidelines page.
